ESports

ESports is professional or semi-professional competitive gaming in an organized format (tournament or league). Esports is one of the fastest growing high school sports with 170+ schools participating and $4.3 Billion in revenue. There is empirical evidence to show greater student interest in STEM careers, better attendance and student engagement.
 

The ESports Club is a NEW after-school program. We will compete with other teams in the district, county and nationally - based on popular Game titles (Rocket League, League of Legends, Supersmash Ultimate, Madden NFL, Valorant, etc.). Our new state-of-the-art gaming lab will be ready around April 2024. However, we are starting to create teams now. Open to Middle and High School students.

1. Represent CMI and compete with other schools around the country
2. Access to $20M in scholarships and career opportunities via SPIN/PlayVS 
3. Meet new people and make new friends.
4. Leadership and travel opportunities (e.g. Lead the “Rocket League” team) + opportunities in Marketing/Event Management

2. New ESports Elective - Learn foundations of Business, Graphic Design, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Game Design, etc. via ESports. These are the high paying diverse careers of the future. No prerequisites needed.
