My name is Matt Dale, and as hard as it is for me to believe, I am about to enter my 19th year as a high school teacher, and my 6th here at Paloma Valley. When I started teaching back in 2003, a veteran colleague said to me, “The days are long, but the years are short.” She was right...time has really flown by. Although I suppose I have now reached veteran status myself, I can tell you that I still have a youthful eagerness to learn and grow, and I hope that my classroom is a healthy place where students feel supported in their own personal growth and development as a whole person.
Over the past 19 years, I have taught a number of high school subjects, and this year I am excited to be teaching Sociology (Periods 2, 5, & 6) and United States History (Periods 3 & 4). Additionally, I proudly serve as the head of the Paloma Valley Girls Basketball program.
While I will have a CANVAS page that has basic course information, we will most frequently use Google Classroom as the learning management system for both Sociology and U.S. History.
This school year is unprecedented in many ways, and I commit to flexibility and compassion as we navigate all of this together.
